“These trips are one of a kind and very personal, because you are interacting directly with our children. If you have always wanted to help Colombia you are just a click away”.
What do we do?
The effects of malnutrition in infancy can be devastating and long lasting. It can limit cognitive and behavioral development in children, their educational performance and health, and debilitate future productivity. The malnutrition rate in children under five years of age in Chocó is 6.3% - almost double the average in the rest of Colombia.
The management of children’s spare time in our community is essential because at an early age children are exposed to alcohol, drugs, sexual exploitation and the forced recruitment into criminal groups. We are betting on culture and sports as an important tool for development and change.
We work towards finding a life mission; all of our activities are meant to facilitate a space where our community and beneficiaries can find a strong life purpose. Our objective is to align the Choco community, their women and children, towards the generation of productive family units and in turn a better quality of life.
“When I first received the affection, love and joy of the Choco community, I understood what my life’s mission would be; they became my greatest teachers and thanks to them I see life through the eyes of service and gratitude".
“When I visited Andagoya, I knew my destiny and that of Chocó would be united forever. En Marajuera we build dreams.”
“I dream of a country without the borders drawn on a map and without color, I dream of a country where all children can be happy and can make their dreams a reality; that is why I decided to leave indifference aside and began a beautiful journey of working with the Choco community. With the Marajuera foundation my dream and theirs have become a reality”.
“I’ve always been searching for the balance between work life and spiritual life, that is why I decided to be a part of the Marajuera Foundation to give vulnerable people valuable tools and better their quality of life. My inspiration are my children and my gratefulness for the opportunities life has granted me; all this has opened my eyes to this social project”.
“If you are looking for something in your life, look for the perfect combination between your passion, your mission, your profession and your vocation”.
